I literally just realized this, but... you remember the baby that Angel was taking to Mictlan during Amaroq's backstory sequence(I forgot the episode)? I am pretty sure that was Charles. Charles was going to have a difficult life no matter what because he either was going to be a child born in the middle of a conflict or be kidnapped by Angel looking to take them to Mictlan. Damn. That's harsh.

I see... so Corn struggles with a unique form of Dissociative Identity Disorder... whenever they touch a reflective surface(perhaps caused by the Black Tezcatlipoca giving him great trauma) they swap. The two corns seemingly are the "Calm Corn"(referred to as the Snake Corn in the captions) who I'll refer to as "Xolotl" and the "Crying Corn"(the one who resembles a human in this episode) who I'll call "Qorn"(with a Q because I don't want people to get confused who I assume is the same one we've seen the entire series before he touched the bow). Xolotl is much more calm and composed, but is much more cold and calculating than Qorn whilst Qorn is much more likely to strike, but is ultimately always wanting to be helpful to others. I think that I'd dread it if Xolotl ever gets his hands on the bow alongside the ability to actually use it considering his current state of being stuck in his version of Corn's Nagual form, but I honestly hope that the two Corns can figure it out and actually find a way to use the mercy bow for good.

I did some research(on Wikipedia so it might not be 100% accurate, but still potential spoilers ahead) and found out that the spirit that Ichibald refers to in that weird dream-like sequence thing when talking to Charles is actually a real Aztec god. Specifically it's a jaguar god that apparently the god version of Tezcatlipoca from Aztec myth literally wore as a skin to use as a sudo-nagual form to fool other gods. The said god "Tepēyōllōtl" was apparently a god of darkened caves, earthquakes, echoes(the cave type of echo that's a form of redirected sound), and jaguars. That's honestly a very cool detail and makes sense. Plus it makes sense that it'd be a part of Tezcatlipoca since he was a god that was literally worn by that god. Also learning about that fact it makes sense that Charles so far is the only major spirit-like character that doesn't have a nagual form(at least not yet) because Tezcatl Ipoca themself didn't really have any true form and usually was portrayed with either a human or jaguar appearance(specifically a black jaguar, but then again jaguars were usually associated with Tepēyōllōtl(the god who Tezcatl Ipoca wears) and technically isn't his own symbol). If Charles somehow does become a spirit(which I doubt myself because that'd be confusing since they don't seem to currently be a spirit, but I don't know since Ichibald wore a wig and seems to previously be human although I'm probably wrong about that) expect his nagual form to potentially be a Jaguar. (Also as one hilarious note that is probably wrong is that the title Blue Tezcatlipoca belongs to Huītzilōpōchtli which I thought the first part sounded similar to Huey, but I doubt that he'd get it because I'm pretty sure that Huey's Spirit name is different than that and Huītzilōpōchtli is represented by a Hummingbird not a Coyote, but it'd certainly be hilarious if Huey turns out to be the wielder of the blue Tezcatlipoca and also make sense due to Huey being as crazy as he is nobody would expect him to wield it in the first place!)

I love how much foreshadowing this episode has. I'm not wanting to spoil much so I'll say that what happened to Corn is (partially) answered in one of the later episodes of the series, but I love the hints towards that in this episode(and earlier episodes). If you know your mythology you can probably have a guess at this too.

Kitty sure has a habit of accidentally(and indirectly) removing parts of peoples' bodies. First Amaroq and now Charles.

0:31 I love how intimidating Angel can be whilst still being morally gray. This kind of lighting would terrify someone who doesn't know how she acts like, but once you do get to know her most, if not all, of that fear disappears. This series definitely is amazing with all of these small details like this.

Spoilers for later episodes. I just want to point out this fact after another rewatch of this series. 6:23 and other points in this video. You can see the guy who is looking into the spirits in later episodes! That's cool and consistent how he's here too despite the fact that his part comes later.

Spoilers for later on in the series, but... It makes sense why Amaroq was searching for Corn in this episode because he's the one who takes care of 'Black Bart' who can command the black ick(as Calamity calls it), but they can't make it get off of people yet. It's unknown when exactly he gets his first power, but it can be assumed that he gets it around this point in the story due to Amaroq actively searching for a way to cure people in this video.

Well I binged this series in 2 days and can't wait for more! Question for the fellow commenters: Do the voice actors for this series do any other roles on UA-cam or otherwise? Some of them sound super familiar like Angel. Google ain't helping much and I'm completely transfixed.

Damn that was good. I wasn’t expecting much from the second episode in but that animation, those faces, the SONG! Amazing. All of it.

No Evil is such an underrated gem of an animated series, the storytelling is so captivating.
